You will be required to fulfil the following duties and responsibilities:-


Category Management (70%)

  • As the Lead of the Categories, you will directly manage a team of -6 staff and provide indirect leadership to the Marketing Team supporting the growth of your categories.
  • You will develop the Sales Plan for the Respective Categories to optimise Sales & Revenue Performance. This shall include the Merchant & Product Mix, Pricing Strategy, Sourcing Strategy, Promotion / Partnership Strategy and to work with the Marketing Lead to devise the respective Marketing & Communications Plans to support the Categories’ Growth. 
  • You will be supported closely by the Business Analytics Team to conduct regular competitive benchmarking and category performance analysis, to identify key sales drivers and detractors. You will take lead in merging the data insights with industry intelligence into action plans to improve business performance for the categories under your purview.
  • You and your team will lead all prospecting of merchants and the resultant account management and partnerships. You will be supported by the Operations Team for onboarding and Marketing Team during sustenance.
  • You will be accountable for the P&L for the Categories under purview, including ownership of various performance metrics including EBITDA, CM1/2/3/4. 

 

Strategic Planning & New Business Development (30%)

  • You will support the Business Head in developing the mid-term (3-5-Year) strategic growth plan, including leading / partaking in cross-disciplinary taskforces to trial new business development initiatives. In which, the role will embody end-to-end business planning and execution covering, market intelligence gathering, prospecting, operationalisation and business case projections.
  • You will support the Business Head in annual Budgeting and workplan preparation, and monthly business performance review and management. 

 

This is a both a leadership and execution role as you will be required to be hands-on in the projects and operations. You will have exciting opportunities to grow in a digital business which is in midst of active expansion and to interface closely with a wide repertoire of stakeholders such as sales and marketing, operations team and tech teams etc. 

 

As such, you will also need to have strong understanding of the eCommerce space, sharp acumen in business development, strong understanding of and relationships with the trade partners in the various business categories, and to possess fluent salesmanship and effective project management skills. You must be comfortable in managing multi-stakeholders, fluent in analytics, power point presentation and senior management engagement.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree Holder with at least 10 – 15 years of mixed experience in Business Development, Retail Management / Merchandising & eCommerce, preferably in Beauty
  • P&L Management Experience is a must
  • Very strong commercial and relationship management abilities
  • Very strong Management Presentation Skills, including preparation of Long-Term Business Case and Pitches
  • Good command of English is essential for both written & spoken
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proactive, hands-on and problem-solving attitude
